Rutter's arrangement of this traditional telling of the 12 days between Christmas day and the feast of the epiphany on 6th January, features SATB male and female voice arrangement accompanied by a brass band and percussion section.
KS1/2 pupils should be able to identify these instrumental sounds and also notice the variations in tempo, in particular the use of slowing down to emphasize the end of particular phrases.
